En muchas de nuestras publicaciones comentamos que nos enorgullece ver cómo se van consiguiendo avances por parte de centros educativos o administraciones públicas para ofrecer una mejor ayuda a las personas afectadas con TDAH y a sus familias. Esto nos anima a continuar, pues no hay mayor motivador extrínseco que ver cómo se van consiguiendo pequeños logros que nos acercan al objetivo final.
Pero nos sigue asombrando ver, a pesar de todos los esfuerzos que llevamos a cabo especialistas de este ámbito y las asociaciones de toda España por divulgar y poner en su sitio al TDAH, cómo aún se mantienen publicaciones que ponen en duda la veracidad del trastorno y aseguran su invención con fines económicos.
Consideramos que estas publicaciones no hacen más que crear confusión en la sociedad sobre un trastorno del que se documentan muchos estudios que demuestran la evidencia científica de su existencia. Estas noticias no hacen más que enturbiar un poco más las cosas y crear un entorno más hostil hacia los adultos, niños y familias afectadas con TDAH. Con toda la problemática que eso conlleva. Vierten gasolina a un fuego que se intenta controlar, apaciguar y, por último, apagar.
Es posible que varias de ellas esten hechas en un tono cómico sin mayor maldad, véase alguno de los monologos de Eva Hache o, incluso, esta entrada del blog del periódico Público (se puede entender como redactado en un tono algo irónico pues sino ciertas enfermedades no tendría sentido que allí aparezcan). Pero aún así, consideramos que no es el momento ni la forma, pues puede llevar a equivocaciones a personas desconocedoras del tema.
Necesitamos más que nunca la implicación de los medios de comunicación para ayudarnos en la difusión y sensibilización de todas las áreas de la sociedad. En esta lucha nos encontramos muy implicados todo el equipo de Educ-at y, aunque en ocasiones sea muy frustrante, no cesaremos hasta conseguirlo.
Deseamos que este tipo de noticias sean cada vez menores.
